Polyurea Coats Glass Surface without Prep or Primer

Job Description: This 20-year old building at Fort Wainwright Army Base was experiencing vapor and thermal insulation problems. The exterior siding and insulation was removed. 40 mils (1mm) POLYSHIELD SS-100® was applied on the back side of the sheetrock then 5" of 2 lb. density Polyurethane Foam was sprayed over the POLYSHIELD SS-100®. Excess foam was scarified and siding reinstalled. Over 500 gallons of POLYSHIELD SS-100® were used as well as 14,000 lbs. of foam.

Other Coatings Evaluated for Project: Synthetic Rubber Spray Applied. POLYSHIELD SS-100® was chosen because the synthetic rubber required 3 coats with 2 hours dry time in between.
