Job Description: Coated floor and walls of the air handlers to 64 mils. Floor was then flooded (leak testing) with 1" of water and left for 6 hours. No leaks in any of the 22 air handlers. The City of Detroit had tried caulking, dikes, etc., to stop leaks with no success. Since this job was completed, they have now given a contract to coat standing seam air handler roofs and exterior duct work.

The City of Detroit is very pleased with the job and has many more projects to do with POLYSHIELD SS-100™ (elevator entrance floors, walkways, steps, dish washing room floor, etc.).

Follow-up Inspection: The City of Detroit contact, Herb Sanford, and a Specialty Products, Inc. representative inspected this site in July of 1999. No leaks, cracks or other deficiencies were found.

Other Coatings Evaluated for Project: Epoxy and urethane coatings were evaluated for this project.
